Denise Bloch takes great pride in creating contemporary American hand blown glass beaded jewelry. In her small way, she feels she is contributing to history by creating glass beaded jewelry treasures that will one day be unearthed a millennia from now!
Denise Bloch's current goal is to create whimsical and fanciful jewelry that bears no reflection to any current fashion jewelry trend, but rather strives towards emanating a timeless quality of elegance and playfulness in each piece of jewelry.
An important aspect that Denise Bloch takes into consideration is that her jewelry be very wearable. Whether her work is being worn as a wearable art statement or simply dressing up casual attire, Denise wants each jewelry piece to be easily enjoyed by the wearer as well as the admirer.
Color is a very important element in Denise Bloch's jewelry. Her color pallette is infinite and Denise is constantly playing with different color combinations and patterning in combination with other glass beads and semi precious beads.
Denise Bloch received her Bachelor of Arts degree from U.C.L.A in 1983. She studied with master ceramist Adrian Saxe and world renowned glass artist Richard Marquis.
Denise Bloch Jewelry is shown in the finest craft galleries and museum stores though out the country. Her jewelry has also been in exhibitions in Japan, Germany and Canada.
Master glass blower Kerry J. Feldman provides Denise Bloch Jewelry with beautiful glass cane which he produces in Breckenridge, Colorado. Denise and her co-workers process the cane by cutting each bead individually. The beads are then tumbled in a matrix of fine grit and water. The beads are then sorted and fired to a high polish in a specially designed kiln.
